On the strength of their "hit single Misconstrue" (as the advertisements billed it), Pond Monkeys were selected to compete in the Got Milk? Shake Stuff Up Tour Battle Of The Bands. The tour made a stop at Riverfest in Wichita, KS, where samples of milk were given away while the two competing bands performed.
Pond Monkeys marked their first performance in Wichita with an eclectic set consisting of mostly new material. The boys began with "Misconstrue" and proceeded to switch instruments before each of the three remaing songs. Daniel sang "Sweet Movement," Derek rocked on lead for "Feel Sorry For Me," and Austin came to the front of the stage for "She's Out Of The Way."
Eivy, a native-Wichita band, took the stage next with a 4-song set of bluesy-pop songs. They would proceed to win the day's Battle Of The Bands.
